Can children who are home-schooled participate in sports and other activities offered by the school district where they live?

The school district where a child lives has the discretion to make school activities available to students taught at home. Many school districts have established a written policy on participation of home-schooled students in extra-curricular activities such as sports, band and clubs. You should contact your local school district for this information. However, school districts are not required to allow home-schooled students to participate in such activities.
